Wheeler Studio

This coastal studio was originally constructed in the 1980s as a rental unit, and was converted to modern home office/guest suite by our design and build team. The look and feel of the studio has been updated with new ambient and task lighting, sustainably harvested eucalyptus wood flooring and slate tiling for an efficient wood stove. The kitchen has also been updated with granite countertops and cherry cabinetry fitted with pull-out shelving. To optimize air circulation from the deck, we replaced the sliding door with wood clad doors with matching windows on both sides. The elevated sills of the new windows also made room for a small desk and end table. Additional functional improvements include relocating the loft ladder and integrating efficient, flexible and beautiful storage space for the family’s collection of South American tapestries.

“I have had the honor of working with Rainbow Valley Design and Construction on several projects for over thirty years. I trust Rainbow Valley. They consistently offer excellent design, clear communication, reasonable pricing, and thorough follow-through in every aspect of the relationship. I have no hesitation in recommending Rainbow Valley and enthusiastically look forward to the opportunity of working with them on another project.”
