Project Description

This 1950’s ocean-front cabin was originally remodeled by our team in 1986 to be used as a rental and vacation home. When the owners decided to make it their permanent residence 23 years later, our team was asked to adapt the home to meet their changing lifestyle and professional needs. A more prominent entry and expanded indoor/outdoor gathering spaces now allow the homeowners to comfortably host large gatherings of their clients on a regular basis. Durable stone flooring was chosen to withstand the sand from the beach and extensive traffic from multiple entries. Our team also added a convenient steam room, shower, and bath, which can be accessed from the refurbished hot tub deck. To preserve the home’s integrity—and many years of memories—we re-used the original 1950’s nautically-themed glass lights, and created a trestle-style dining room table and benches from the old fir ceilings.

This project won the Oregon Remodeler’s Association Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award for Whole House Remodel $250 – $500K in 2011.
