Project Description

Art and Sue Palsbo’s home sits on 2.5-acres next to Wild Iris Ridge Park in the southwest Eugene hills. The couple wanted a modern-style home that blended in with its surroundings, that was modest in size yet had a feeling of expansiveness. The home features a unique rust-colored concrete floor with radiant heating system, wall-length windows that collect passive solar heat, active solar water heating and wind-powered cooling, all of which make the home highly energy efficient. The view through the expansive windows along with the curved roof make this 2,522-square-foot home feel large and open, blending the home’s park-like surroundings with the comfort and openness within.
