Project Description

The owners of this 1948 home felt that their long, low great room and cramped kitchen lacked a sense of elegance, functionality, and a connection to the outdoors. Our team bumped out the south wall and vaulted the ceiling of the kitchen to maximize the height of new windows and expanding floor space. We also created a convenient breakfast bar between the dining room and kitchen, and installed a new hardwood floor, cherry cabinets, laminate counters, and modern lighting features. The ceiling of the great room has also been vaulted, allowing natural light from the new kitchen windows to fill the airy upper space of the new dining area.

This project won the Oregon Remodeler’s Association Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award for Residential Kitchen $40-$80K in 2011.
